Door lock in Zanussi Washing Machine
Come across quite a few of these Zanussi Washing Machines that seem to have a problem with their door locks overheating and failing. This kind of door interlock also fits some Electrolux, Tricity Bendix and AEG models as they are all owned by the parent company of Electrolux. There seems to be an increasing number of manufactures that are having problems with electrical components burning out or catching on fire, the latest in the news have been Beko fridge freezers, Hotpoint dishwashers and Bosch dishwashers. Indesit dishwashers could also have a problem with this as they are the same company as Hotpoint (both owned by Merloni) and as for Bosch, they are the same as Neff and Siemens so I suppose their dishwashers could also have a potential fire rist.
With Bosch dishwashers there is a web site where you can look up if your Bosch dishwasher is affected by clicking here. If there is a problem with your model Bosch will come out to you to replace the faulty component free of charge. The faulty component is the main circuit board / PCB.

Spot the Difference!
The element (Zanussi) on the left retails around £15.00 while the one on the right (Kuppersbusch) retails around £201.00???
The fixings holes are in a slightly different place as you can see in the picture and the size of the elements are slightly different so they are not interchangeable.
What a rip off! They probably are made in the same factory in China but because Kuppersbusch are one of the more up market cookers they charge a ridicules amount for their parts.
I recommend you buy any make of cooker other than a Kuppersbusch.

Burn’t out plug to door interlock on a Zanussi Washing Machine.
Come across a few of these but none of them have escalated into something more serious, yet!!

Bosch Washing Machine in Camberley with broken drum shaft and bearings and only 3 years old.
Only seen this about 3 or 4 times over the last 20 years with Bosch, now if it was a Hotpoint or Indesit washing machine I see this every week.
Zanussi washing machine also seem to have this problem of bearings going usually in under 4 years.

AEG Cooker repairs, West Byfleet Woking Guildford Byfleet
AEG Cooker cutting out after getting hot. This is quite common in these cookers as is down the the cooling fan relay.
Fitted this part on my customers appliance in West Byfleet today and Im sure I’ll come across another one soon.
